Algarve is for individualists

If you make a booking for a holiday resort most of the time the country of travel is not as important. The resorts resemble one another throughout the world. You will be entertained, get uniform food and won't learn much about country and people. For many destinations this is the optimum because they don't have much to offer aside a stay at a resort. In Portugal this is quite different. It is an extremely versatile country and worth seeing. Especially the Algarve is a region of great impressions and variety so that many people don't know where to turn to first.

Try to experience as much as possible of this magnificent region - without a rental car this is not possible at all. By the way - prices for rental cars in Portugal are quite reasonable.

Pure nature

Personally we have travelled along the European coast lines for 25 years and nowhere else we could find a place so beautiful and unspoilt. Again and again we were drawn back to the Algarve because we were faszinated by the untouched beaches and spectacular nature reserves. Even during peak season it might happen that you are the only visitor on a small beach.

Yes to tourism - but quietude in the evening

You can reach smaller touristic villages like Sagres or Salema in the course of a couple of minutes. For shopping Lagos can be reached in about 15 minutes. If you like a city, paved with souvenir booths and with the sound of the discos throughout the whole night you can drive to Albufeira which is about a 45 minute drive away. But for the majority vacation also means to come to rest - especially at the holiday domicile. Here Raposeira presents an excellent opportunity to have both. At the same time you don't reside in the outback - in walking distance you can provide yourself with the most important items of daily life.
