There is a road directly in Raposeira to the south of the coastal road which leads to the picturesque place, Hortas du Tabual. After 1,5 kilometres you arrive at our local beaches. The West Algarve has more beaches than holiday days and we are often too lazy to visit new areas and find our local beaches more conveniant and the most beautiful of the Portuguese beaches.
If you keep to the coastal road going from Raposeira southwards youarrive at Praia da Zavial which is a picturesque bay with an nudist area at one end. It has the FEEE flag and a sophisticated restaurant with meals and refreshments. You might be fortunate enough to experience the full moon as the tide goes out ? and see the impressive silver sea.
If you follow the small road on the right (on foot or by car) just before you get to Zavial you come to a smaller more dreamy bay, Praia da Ingrina. It is not even crowded here in the holiday season, it has a life guard and it is and easy for you to attend to your children. In windy weather the bay is a secret tip for surfers, who you can watch from the terrace of the restaurant over a hot Galao.
If you turn 100m westwards off the coastal road in Raposeira onto a small track you get to the bay of Barranco. The track passes through a nature reserve with fantastic views. Barranco is a natural bay with no guards or restaurant and worth a visit.
